About Gijs
Gijs Heerkens is an internet entrepreneur from the Netherlands and the founder of Rostrio. He builds online products and writes about passport photos, identity documents and the practical questions people face when arranging a photo.
In 2009, Gijs wanted to create a passport photo online and could not find a service that did what he needed. That experience led him to build the service that became Rostrio.
Through the Rostrio blog, he shares explanations of photo requirements, changes affecting identity and travel documents, and developments in the service. His perspective comes from building an online passport-photo business and making its processes easier to understand.
Outside Rostrio, Gijs develops other online products and works from different cities. He enjoys exploring new places, fitness, football, cooking and podcasts.
