Check Your Visa Requirements

For tourism with an ordinary passport only. Work, study, transit, residence permits and special travel documents require a separate check.

This tool provides general guidance, not a decision on entry. Rules and other entry conditions can change. Confirm your circumstances with the destinationโ€™s official immigration authority or consulate before booking and travelling.

Start with the Passport You Will Use

Choose the country that issued your passport, your destination and the number of days you plan to stay. The passport country starts with your Get started selection. You can change it here without changing your photo order. Selecting a destination card fills the destination field; your passport choice and trip length stay in place.

Your passport country is not necessarily where you live. If you hold more than one passport, check each journey using the passport you intend to present. This finder covers tourist travel with an ordinary passport. Work, study, residence, transit and other travel documents need a separate check with the destination authority.

Turn Your Result Into a Next Step

  • Visa-Free: Read the conditions and permitted stay in the official source. Check whether a separate travel authorisation or arrival form is required.
  • Electronic Authorisation: Follow the official authorisation process before travel and check which passport the approval is linked to.
  • Evisa: Use the destination authority's application portal and check the approval requirements before booking departure.
  • Visa on Arrival: Check whether your arrival point offers it, which documents to bring and how payment works.
  • Visa Required: Consult the official application instructions for the correct visa category, appointment and supporting documents.
  • Unknown or Unverified: The finder cannot confirm your requirement. Follow the official source or contact the relevant consulate; missing information does not mean visa-free entry.

Official examples: 1. U.S. Department of State: visa validity and permitted stay[1]; 2. European Commission: EES and ETIAS explained[2]. These sources explain U.S. and European procedures respectively; the source linked in your individual result governs the destination being checked.

Before Booking and Before Departure

  1. Check the Passport Itself. Confirm the Destination's Rules for Validity, Issue Date, Blank Pages and Accepted Document Types.
  2. Check the Whole Itinerary. Include Transit Countries, Airport Changes and Any Stop That Requires Passing Border Control.
  3. Read the Stay Conditions. Distinguish the Visa's Validity Period from the Number of Days You May Actually Stay, and Check Whether the Permission Covers One or Multiple Entries.
  4. Prepare Supporting Documents. Use the Official Checklist for Accommodation, Onward Travel, Funds and Any Documents Required for Your Situation.
  5. Match the Photo to the Application. Only Order a Visa Photo After Checking Whether the Application Asks for an Uploaded File, Prints or an Image Taken in Person. Use the Destination's Specifications for a Visa Application and the Issuing Country's Specifications for a Passport Application.
  6. Check Again Close to Departure. Review the Official Source Linked in Your Result and the Travel Advice for Your Itinerary.

Why Trip Length Alone Cannot Settle Every Case

This tool checks the days entered for one proposed trip. It does not reconstruct your previous travel or calculate a rolling allowance. For example, where the Schengen short-stay rule applies, previous stays can reduce the days remaining within the 90-in-180-day allowance. Changing countries inside that area does not create a new allowance. Use the European Commission's official short-stay calculator[4] with your entry and exit dates, and check any shorter limit on your visa.

Questions That Often Change the Answer

Can I Use My Country of Residence Instead of My Passport Country?

Select the passport you will travel with. If you also hold a residence permit or another visa, check the official source for exceptions that may apply to that additional document. The finder does not ask for those documents and cannot assess every exception.

Does Visa-Free Mean There is Nothing to Arrange?

Check the entry conditions separately. A destination can distinguish visa permission, electronic travel authorisation and border registration. The EU's explanation of EES and ETIAS[2] illustrates why these processes should not be treated as interchangeable. Follow the current official instructions for your departure date.

What Should I Do If the Official Source Differs from the Result?

Use the destination authority's current instructions and clarify your situation with its consulate. The finder is a planning aid, not an entry permit. Do not rely on a summary when the source describes an exception or a more recent change.

Sources and Review Dates

The following official sources support the general explanations on this page. Their scope is stated individually; they do not establish visa eligibility for every passport and destination combination.

Sources checked: 29 October 2026.

Each available result includes its official source and review information. Read that source for the precise scope and exceptions. If a rule has expired or cannot be verified, the tool shows uncertainty rather than presenting it as a confirmed requirement. The general guidance above was checked on 29 October 2026; that date does not replace the individual review date shown in your result.
