Algerian Passport Photo

Preparing a Natural Likeness for Algeria’s Biometric Passport

A passport photograph for Algeria needs to preserve the applicant’s real appearance, even when the image is prepared digitally. The Algerian consulate in London expressly distinguishes an original photograph from a scanned copy of an existing printed picture. Its guidance also excludes retouching that changes the person’s appearance. That makes the original capture an important part of preparing the application.

London specifies a color photograph measuring 35 millimeters wide by 45 millimeters high, printed on photo-quality paper without borders. The white background, front-facing portrait and natural skin color help produce a recognizable likeness. These points complement the detailed photo requirements; a visually attractive image still needs to work as an identity photograph.

The national passport portal brings together applications, tracking and a photo-upload service. Follow the route selected for your own file, including the receiving office’s instructions for prints or a digital photograph. A photo file intended for uploading and a finished paper photograph are different deliverables, even when they originate from the same sitting.

Before submitting, inspect photo quality at the intended output size and compare the image with the other identity documents in your application. Algerians applying abroad can use the embassy and consulate directory to locate their responsible consular office. For later travel, the visa finder helps identify destination information; a foreign visa may have its own photographic format rather than automatically accepting the passport print.
