Preparing for an Armenian Identity-Card Appointment

An identity-card request in Armenia is handled by the Migration and Citizenship Service. Its official booking page separates first issuance from exchange of an existing card. The initial checklist begins with a passport or birth certificate, while an exchange normally uses the card being replaced. The photograph should be considered within that particular identity-record transaction.

The service asks visitors to prepare the required documents before reserving an appointment and to book in the name of the person who will attend. Each family member needs an individual booking, regardless of age. This is useful when organizing several identity documents at once: keep each person’s papers and any requested photo material clearly separated.

The published card checklist does not instruct every applicant to bring a fixed number of passport prints. Confirm the capture or submission method with the service. If a new portrait is needed, prepare for a recognizable likeness; the photo requirements, photo quality, framing and facial expression guides can help you understand the photographic stage without assuming a passport checklist applies unchanged.

An exchange prompted by changed or incorrect information may also need evidence of that change. Resolve the document details alongside the photo arrangements, so the card reflects the same person and current record. For inquiries from abroad, the embassy and consulate directory helps locate Armenian consular contacts, but the appointment and identity-card service itself should be confirmed with the Migration and Citizenship Service.
