Preparing for Passport Photo Capture at an Azerbaijani Service Center

The ordinary passport service in Azerbaijan includes photography at the issuing authority. ASAN explains that the applicant’s image is captured inside the center using dedicated equipment, with the photograph prepared to ICAO standards. This makes preparation for the appointment the relevant starting point, rather than assuming a separately ordered photo set completes the passport process.

Fingerprint collection accompanies photography, although ASAN states that fingerprints are not collected from children under fifteen. The portrait and other biometrics belong to the applicant’s passport record. Keep the requested identity documents ready so the office can connect the captured image to the correct person and application.

Before attendance, review facial expression, framing and the photo requirements. ASAN’s general photo guidance emphasizes facing the camera directly, keeping the eyes visible and avoiding shadows. A recognizable likeness is the objective; the photo quality of the captured image matters for both the document and later identity checks.

For a replacement, explain whether the passport has expired, become unusable or needs corrected personal information. The issuing service determines the supporting papers for that case. Applicants abroad can use the embassy and consulate directory to contact the responsible Azerbaijani representation and confirm its arrangements. If a destination visa is also needed, consult the visa finder separately: a foreign visa may ask you to supply a photograph even though the Azerbaijani passport image is captured by the issuing authority.
