Official Bahamian passport photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationThe passport renewal service for Bahamas places a photo check before the application itself. Its online portal also provides a separate route for submitting a replacement image when the Passport Office requests one. A well-prepared digital photograph can therefore support both the initial renewal and a later correction without confusing the photo with the other supporting documents.
Bahamian passport guidance describes a recent color portrait, with a white or off-white background. The published passport rules define recent as within six months and specify a square photograph. Review the photo requirements for the relevant output, particularly when moving between a printed photograph and an online upload. A paper size alone does not establish a suitable digital file.
Keep the original image available and check its photo quality before submitting it. Natural detail should remain visible, and the framing should leave a clear view of the head and face. The aim is a recognizable likeness that matches the person presenting the passport during travel, rather than a heavily adjusted profile picture.
The renewal portal lets applicants track their case and submit further documents if requested. Those services should be used with the instructions attached to the actual application. For consular assistance overseas, consult the embassy and consulate directory. Preparing a passport also offers a useful moment to check destination entry arrangements with the visa finder; the destination may need its own application photograph.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
