Bruneian Residence Permit Photo

Residence Status and the Portrait on Brunei’s Purple Identity Card

A residence-permit photo request for Brunei should begin by identifying the document being arranged. The Immigration Department handles permanent-resident status through its entry-permit service, while eligible residents also use the purple smart identity card. The entry or resident permit and the identity card are connected documents with separate application requirements.

The purple-card form requires evidence of the entry or resident permit and, where applicable, the passport and permit endorsement. It says the photograph is taken at the application counter. Applicants are instructed to dress neatly; dark headscarves are advised for women who wear them, and coloured contact lenses are not permitted. These are concrete instructions for the identity-card capture associated with the resident’s record.

Keep the relevant identity documents and permit evidence together so the registration office can check the status behind the new portrait. Preparing a recognizable likeness involves more than selecting an old picture from a previous visa. The facial expression, framing and photo quality guides explain practical considerations for a clear image at attendance.

If you need photographs for the permit application itself, ask the entry-permit service for that application’s checklist before ordering prints or preparing a digital photograph. The purple-card counter instruction should not be treated as a universal submission rule for every residence service. The visa finder helps with initial entry research, while the department determines the route for residence approval and the subsequent identity documentation.
