Burmese Diplomatic Passport Photo

The Personal Portrait in Myanmar’s Diplomatic Passport Category

Myanmar’s diplomatic passport is identified in the U.S. Department of State’s document guidance as a distinct category issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That makes the responsible application route different from the ordinary-passport process. The portrait still has a personal task: it enables the individual travelling on the diplomatic document to be recognised.

An official assignment and the holder’s face convey different information. Supporting authorisation establishes why the person qualifies for the document, while the image associates that request with its named holder. A photograph used on an ordinary passport form should therefore be reused only if it meets the instructions for the diplomatic request and still reflects the applicant’s appearance.

Review the portrait for a recognisable likeness, clear photo quality and suitable framing. Our background, facial expression and photo preparation instructions guides help with preparation, with the detailed visual specifications set out below. Confirm whether the responsible office wants prints, an image file or capture during attendance; the document-category description does not publish a universal photo-submission procedure. Keep the image attached to the correct identity documents and official paperwork. When arranging a mission outside Myanmar, use our embassy and consulate directory to locate destination guidance for diplomatic travellers. The passport category, any required entry permission and the current facial image should all correspond to the same individual and proposed official journey.
