A Recent Portrait for Chile’s Temporary Residence Application

Chile’s Residencia Temporal is administered by SERMIG for foreign nationals intending to live in the country for a limited period. The application is made through its digital procedures portal, with supporting documents determined by the residence subcategory. The portrait is one of the general materials and links the applicant’s face to that immigration file.

SERMIG asks for a recent colour photograph on a white background, looking directly at the camera with the complete face visible, eyes open and a neutral expression. Its instructions exclude accessories such as glasses or a hat and accept the upload in JPG or PNG format. Prepare the image close to the application date so that it remains an accurate likeness.

The identity-document scan is a separate attachment, and the supporting evidence differs between applications made abroad and those made within Chile.
