Official Cypriot visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA visa application for Cyprus identifies the traveller and explains the proposed visit. The government’s visa guidance asks for a recent passport-sized photograph attached to the entry-visa application. Before preparing the image, use the visa finder to establish whether your nationality and circumstances require a visa and which visit category applies.
The portrait belongs with the passport and supporting travel evidence. Keep the applicant’s particulars consistent across those identity documents and the form, especially where several passports are held. A copy of the passport’s information page serves a different purpose from the separate recent photograph requested for the application.
Prepare a recognizable likeness, using natural facial expression and clear facial detail. Our photo quality, background and framing guides explain practical preparation. The responsible mission’s photo requirements establish the finished size and presentation; retain the original digital photograph when arranging the requested photo output.
Use the embassy and consulate directory to locate the Cypriot mission handling applications in your country of residence. Its checklist connects the photo to the purpose of the visit, such as tourism or family contact. Put the image with the correct signed form and supporting papers so the file can be assessed as a complete application, rather than treating the photograph as the only preparation needed.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
