An Identity Portrait for Guinea’s Residence-Card File

For foreign nationals settling in Guinea, the residence card identifies the person whose stay has been authorised. The Ministry of Security’s published guidance distinguishes temporary residence categories from the resident card, with the Police de l’Air et des Frontières responsible for the relevant administration. The residence record is also distinct from the visa used for entry. Guinea’s identification legislation provides for foreign residents to be entered in the national register when requesting residence cards or similar identification documents. Ask the office handling your request how it collects the image, and whether new prints are needed for your particular application or renewal. Keep the portrait with the same applicant’s permission and identity records when organising a family dossier. A separate, clearly identified photo file is easier to locate if the office requests an additional copy.
