Official Iraqi visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationIraq provides an electronic entry-visa service, with requirements determined by the applicant’s country and passport type. The official eVisa instructions include a search for those details. Start there before preparing the photograph, since a visitor using the electronic route and someone directed to a mission may receive different submission instructions.
The Iraqi embassy in Abu Dhabi publishes a consular checklist that includes two photographs with the visa application. That is useful evidence of the portrait’s role in a mission-based file, but it should not be read as a universal paper-photo requirement for the electronic service. Follow the active instructions for the route available to you.
Your portrait should provide a recognisable likeness that can be compared with the passport and other identity documents. Review the detailed requirements below and use our framing, facial expression, background and photo quality guidance when preparing the image. If the application uses a file upload, check its requested digital delivery format rather than assuming that a scan of a printed photograph will be suitable.
The visa finder offers a starting point for planning travel to Iraq, and our embassy and consulate directory helps locate representation when consular handling is needed. Keep the personal photograph separate from the passport biodata-page copy. Before submission, review both the image and the written passport particulars so the visa request consistently identifies the person who intends to travel.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
