Italian Visa Photo

An Italian Visa Photograph Within Your Travel Dossier

A visa photograph for Italy identifies the person named in the application and passport. The right starting point is the purpose and length of the proposed stay: a short Schengen visit and a national visa follow different document checklists. Our visa finder helps with initial destination research, while the Italian representation handling the application determines the material you submit.

The Italian consulate in Los Angeles gives a concrete tourism example: a recent colour photograph measuring 35 by 45 mm, showing the whole face from the front against a white background. Use the photo requirements below alongside its checklist to review framing, facial expression and photo quality. The photograph is a separate item from the passport copy included among the supporting identity documents.

Jurisdiction also matters. The Los Angeles guidance distinguishes residents in its consular area from visitors to the United States, who cannot simply apply there as tourists. Locate the appropriate office through our embassy and consulate directory before making arrangements. That avoids preparing a complete photo set for a service that is not responsible for your application.

Keep the chosen image with the application records and confirm whether the receiving service needs prints or another delivery format. If your plans involve study, employment or a longer stay, use that category’s checklist rather than treating a tourist-visa photograph as confirmation that the rest of the application is suitable. The portrait supports the dossier; it does not establish the purpose of travel by itself.
