North Macedonian Diplomatic Passport Photo

A Recognisable Portrait in North Macedonia’s Diplomatic Passport

The diplomatic passport issued by North Macedonia is a distinct travel-document category, recorded in the Council of the European Union’s PRADO register under the title Diplomatski pasoš. Its personal-data section includes the holder’s facial image. That portrait identifies the traveller; it should be prepared for the passport request rather than taken from a ceremonial photograph without checking its suitability.

A published document specimen is useful for identifying the passport type, but it does not provide a complete application checklist. Confirm the authorised handling route and current photo instructions with the office coordinating the official travel. Keep the portrait associated with the correct identity documents and any supporting request from the relevant institution.

The photo requirements below explain the visual checks, including framing, facial expression and photo quality. A clear recognisable likeness matters more than a formal setting or elaborate clothing. Our photo preparation guide can help prepare an original image, while the handling office determines whether to supply prints, a digital photograph or attend a capture appointment.

For an overseas assignment, use the embassy and consulate directory to locate the relevant representation. Ask separately about any destination visa or accreditation photograph, because those are different requests from the North Macedonian diplomatic passport itself. Keeping each request clearly labelled reduces the risk of supplying the right person’s image in the wrong document format.
