Preparing for Senegal’s Biometric Passport Enrolment

A passport from Senegal links the holder’s portrait to a national identity record, including when the application is made overseas. The Senegalese mission in Paris describes biometric enrolment involving the photograph, fingerprints and signature. Preparing for that appointment is therefore part of photo preparation: the applicant must be ready to have a clear image recorded alongside the other identity information. An image saved separately does not replace the enrolment step described by the mission.

For families, the supporting civil record can be especially important. The consulate in Casablanca explains that younger children need national registration and a national identification number for the passport process. That is separate from obtaining a usable child’s portrait.
