Tajik Passport Photo

The Portrait in Tajikistan’s Electronic Foreign Passport

The ordinary foreign passport of Tajikistan is distinct from the domestic citizen passport used to establish identity within the country. The Consular Department describes issuance under the 2020 rules for passports containing an electronic data carrier. When preparing a portrait, start with the service receiving your application: the Foreign Ministry, an overseas mission or an Interior Ministry office may be involved, depending on the circumstances.

The portrait connects the travel document to a current recognisable likeness, while the domestic passport or nationality evidence establishes the underlying record. Keep your identity documents consistent with the name and personal details submitted. Ask the receiving office whether its current process captures the image or requires supplied prints; older downloadable checklists should not automatically determine the photo package for an electronic-passport appointment.

Preparation is useful in either case. Use balanced framing, a natural facial expression and an uncluttered background, and preserve facial detail rather than smoothing it away. Retain a clear digital photograph at adequate image resolution if supplying an image is part of your route. Applicants abroad can use the embassy and consulate directory to find the responsible mission and confirm its arrangements. The detailed photo requirements below help with image preparation after that route is established, including when the application concerns a child whose nationality must be supported by different records.
