Official Ukrainian visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationUkraine’s Foreign Ministry lists one applicant photograph measuring 35 × 45 mm among the standard visa-application materials. The picture accompanies the signed application and passport, while supporting evidence explains the purpose and circumstances of the intended stay. Organise the portrait for that visa file rather than copying it from an existing identity document.
The photo requirements below provide the image overview. Use our framing, background, facial expression and photo quality explanations when reviewing a clear, current likeness. Keep the photograph readable and consistent with the person and passport details entered in the application, especially when preparing both electronic registration and physical submission materials.
The ministry advises applicants to register the visa application for the relevant receiving service. Different purposes require different supporting evidence, so select the appropriate category before assembling invitations or other records. Registration of an application and the decision to issue a visa are separate stages of processing.
Our visa finder supports entry research, and the Ukraine page links to other Ukrainian document information. Use the embassy and consulate directory to identify the responsible representation and its current service arrangements. Keep the requested identity documents and category-specific evidence together with the portrait; the general photograph checklist should be read alongside the instructions for the application you are actually making.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
