The Portrait Created Through Vincentian Electoral Registration

The national identification card in Saint Vincent & Grenadines is issued through the Electoral Office’s registration work. Its published services include photographing and registering eligible claimants aged eighteen or older, then producing identification cards for registered persons. The portrait is therefore connected with the registration record, rather than being a standalone document that can be ordered solely by supplying a headshot.

Contact the Electoral Office for the evidence applicable to a first registration, a changed name or another update. Its guidance lists civil and identity records that may support changes, and explains that previously issued cards must be surrendered when an approved name change or transfer requires it. The portrait helps identify the holder, while those records establish the details that should appear with it. Preparing a new image alone does not amend the underlying record.

The card also serves practical identification purposes outside voting: the SVG Postal Corporation, for example, lists it among accepted photo identification. That wider use makes a recognisable current portrait valuable long after the registration appointment has ended.
