Official Aruban residence permit photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationResidence applications in Aruba are handled through DIMAS, with checklists tailored to the reason for staying. Its regular paid-employment checklist asks for both a clear passport copy and a separate recent color passport photograph in JPEG format. These are different attachments: the passport page documents the existing travel identity, while the new image provides the requested current likeness.
The specified photo format is 35 by 45 millimeters. Review framing and photo quality when preparing the digital photograph, keeping a recognizable likeness rather than extracting the older printed picture from a scanned passport page. The photo requirements offer a photographic reference, but DIMAS’s file instructions determine the submitted output.
The employment checklist also includes the employment agreement, employer guarantee and related supporting documents. Other categories, such as residence with a partner or indefinite residence, have their own evidence requirements. Keep the portrait with the correct applicant’s identity documents, particularly when an employer or family member helps assemble the file.
A residence permit is separate from any visa needed to travel to Aruba and collect or activate the relevant status. Use the visa finder for entry research and the embassy and consulate directory to find the authority handling a related visa application. Do not assume that the JPEG sent to DIMAS automatically fulfills a consular appointment’s photo request. Retain the original image so the appropriate version can be prepared if another service requests it.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
