Official Bosnian visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA short-stay visa application for Bosnia & Herzegovina includes a colour photograph measuring 35 by 45 millimetres. The Foreign Ministry lists that picture separately from the passport and signed application. Preparing both items matters: a readable copy of a travel document does not automatically supply the fresh portrait requested for the visa file.
The ministry describes the C visa as a short-stay category that may cover single or multiple entries. Supporting evidence can include an invitation or tourist voucher, insurance and information about the journey and available means. The photo connects those papers to the applicant; the chosen visa category still needs to match the intended visit. Use the visa finder for initial research before following the official checklist.
Review the photographic photo requirements, photo quality and framing when preparing the image. Keep the face clear and natural, with a recognizable likeness consistent with the passport holder. Confirm the receiving mission’s instructions about prints and any digital photograph submission rather than assuming that every consulate accepts the same delivery channel.
The ministry’s published C-visa process calls for personal submission. Use our embassy and consulate directory to find the responsible office and arrange the correct appointment, keeping the photograph with your own identity documents and application documents. If your intended stay requires another category, obtain that checklist first. A photo with the correct dimensions is useful preparation, but it does not replace evidence of why you are travelling or establish that a short-stay application is appropriate.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
