The Portrait Within China’s Diplomatic Passport Authorisation

A Chinese diplomatic passport is issued through the Foreign Ministry’s authority under the Passport Law. It belongs to an official entitlement and assignment, so preparing its photograph starts with the authorised application file. An ordinary passport renewal or a general government-service passport notice should not automatically be treated as the diplomatic checklist.

The Foreign Ministry’s published official electronic-passport photo sheet describes a recent, front-facing colour portrait with a natural expression and no obvious distortion. Its specifications concern the digital image printed into the passport. Obtain the current diplomatic submission instructions from the responsible institutional service before choosing the final export dimensions or ordering copies.

The portrait should identify the holder without the styling of a publicity photograph.
