Official Cypriot diplomatic passport photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationThe diplomatic passport of Cyprus is part of the Republic’s electronic-passport system. The Interior Ministry lists ordinary, diplomatic and service passports as biometric documents, and its passport application form identifies the diplomatic category separately. The official travel purpose and authorization therefore belong with the personal identification record.
The ministry explains that a facial image is printed in the document and stored in its chip. It allows a supplied printed biometric photograph meeting the specifications as well as capture during the application. The portrait supports identification, while the responsible authority determines entitlement to the diplomatic category.
Prepare a recognizable likeness with natural facial expression and unobscured facial features. Our photo quality, framing and biometrics guides explain the photographic considerations. Use the issuing service’s photo requirements when arranging prints, and retain a good original digital photograph for any permitted resubmission.
The office coordinating the assignment should establish the application route and supporting authorization before the file is lodged. Keep the requested identity documents consistent with the official travel papers. The embassy and consulate directory provides contacts abroad, while the visa finder supports initial destination research. Any diplomatic entry arrangements should be settled for the actual journey; the passport photograph identifies the holder but does not determine those arrangements.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
