A Portrait for a Philippine Temporary Visitor Visa

The 9(a) temporary visitor visa is one of the Philippine consular services for foreign travellers whose visit requires a visa. The application combines a portrait with passport and purpose-of-travel evidence. For a visit to Philippines, first establish the applicable category through the visa finder, then consult the mission responsible for your place of application. A picture suitable for a general identity card does not by itself complete the visa file.

Missions publish their own submission instructions. The Philippine consulate in Nagoya asks for a recent passport-size colour photograph, while the Dubai consulate specifies a print dimension and a light or white background. Follow the checklist of the office actually handling your request, including the required recency and delivery method. The embassy and consulate directory helps locate that office if you need to clarify whether it wants prints or a digital photograph.

Prepare a clear recognisable likeness, with suitable framing and reliable photo quality, and review the photo requirements below before exporting or printing. Keep the portrait distinct from the passport bio-page copy and other identity documents. When preparing applications for several travellers, check the image against each application name before submission. The photograph supports identification; evidence about the visit and any activity requiring separate permission remains part of the consular assessment. Retain an original image so a requested correction can be made without repeatedly compressing or cropping the same copy.
