Official French Polynesian visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA journey to French Polynesia must be assessed under the territory’s own entry rules. The High Commission explains that these differ from those for metropolitan France and other French overseas destinations. Before preparing a visa photograph, determine whether your nationality, travel document and intended length of stay require a visa for Polynesia.
The overseas visa application form reserves a space for the applicant’s photograph. Supply a current portrait matching the receiving consulate’s instructions, with a clear face and faithful likeness. Our photo requirements, framing, background, facial expression and photo quality guidance helps you review the image; the passport information-page copy serves a different purpose in the application.
For a stay requiring a visa, use the destination-specific checklist and organise the appointment through the responsible French consular service. Keep evidence of the journey and purpose of stay with the requested identity documents. A long-stay plan also requires attention to the local residence process after arrival, rather than treating a short visit and settlement as identical applications.
Our French Polynesia page connects Polynesian document information, and the visa finder supports initial research. The embassy and consulate directory helps locate the office handling your place of residence. Check whether it needs prints as well as appointment-based biometrics. Include any intermediate country in the research, since permission to enter Polynesia does not itself settle a separate transit requirement.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
