A Single Applicant Portrait for a Gambian Consular Visa File

A consular visa application for Gambia combines the traveller’s passport with the information supplied on the visa form. The Gambian High Commission in London publishes a checklist asking for one passport-size photograph. That separate portrait identifies the person applying, even though the passport already contains an image in its personal-information page.

The London form distinguishes single-entry and multiple-entry requests and describes submission with the passport and completed application. It also provides for postal applications with a suitable return envelope. Those arrangements concern the High Commission’s service; applicants elsewhere should use the embassy and consulate directory to find their responsible representation and its own instructions.

Use the visa finder to research whether a visa is required for your nationality and intended journey before preparing the file. When a photograph is needed, retain a clean original digital photograph and produce the requested prints from it. A recognizable likeness, clear photo quality and suitable framing make the image easier to compare with the passport.

Our facial expression and background guides help with photographic preparation without changing the receiving office’s specifications. Keep the image with the correct form and passport throughout submission. The published London guidance also allows the visa officer to request an interview or further scrutiny, so a completed photo set is one component of the application rather than a promise of approval.
