Official Georgian residence permit photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationGeorgia’s Public Service Development Agency lists a correctly sized colour photograph in electronic form for several residence-permit routes, including study residence. The portrait accompanies the application for a particular legal basis of stay. It identifies the foreign applicant while the remaining evidence supports why residence permission is being requested.
For study residence, the published checklist includes the travel document, evidence of lawful stay and confirmation from an authorised educational institution. Work, family and investment routes have their own supporting records. Choose the relevant category before assembling the file so that the photo and documents belong to the same application.
Review a clear likeness through the photo requirements below, with our framing, background, facial expression and photo quality explanations. Preserve the original facial detail in the digital photograph; a screenshot of another document can introduce borders, glare and compression that do not belong in the application portrait.
Our Georgia page connects other Georgian document guidance. The visa finder supports entry research before the move, while the embassy and consulate directory helps locate your nationality’s consular services if passport matters also need attention. Keep the requested identity documents and residence evidence organised for submission, and follow the card-issuing arrangements after the residence decision rather than assuming that uploading the photograph completes every stage.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
