Certified Photographs in Jamaica’s Permanent-Residence File

Permanent residence in Jamaica is assessed by PICA through categories including employment, retirement, marriage and dependency. The published checklist asks for two identical passport-size photographs certified by a Justice of the Peace. These pictures belong to the residence application file alongside the evidence establishing the applicant’s circumstances; the process should not be confused with ordering a generic residence photo card.

Organise the prints early enough to obtain the required certification. A clear portrait supports the connection between the applicant and the passport and other identity documents submitted with the request. PICA also describes an interview as part of its assessment, making a current recognisable likeness more useful than spare photographs taken for an old travel application.
