Photo Identification and Jersey’s Registration Card Are Different

For identity paperwork in Jersey, first distinguish a photo-bearing identity document from the local registration card used for housing and employment status. Jersey’s official registration guidance asks applicants to supply a clear image of their passport’s photo page. It does not describe taking a new portrait to create a national identity card.

The digital registration card can be shared with employers and landlords and records details such as residential status and the Social Security number. Do not order a new set of prints on the assumption that a registration card will carry a newly supplied portrait.

If you need a passport, driving licence or another recognised photo ID, use the image rules of that specific document.
