The Photograph in Jordan’s Electronic Passport Workflow

Jordan’s Civil Status and Passports Department describes an electronically equipped office process in which the acceptance officer scans the applicant’s photograph into the system. The electronic handling of the application does not necessarily mean the applicant uploads the final passport image from home. For a passport issued by Jordan, establish the service channel before preparing the photograph.

The Department separately describes a live photograph taken while holding the smart ID card when registering for electronic services. That account-verification image serves a different purpose from the clean portrait used in the passport. Keep the two steps distinct: an image showing an identity card in your hand is not the passport photograph itself.

Prepare a current recognisable likeness and review photo quality, framing and facial expression against the detailed specifications below. If the office requires prints for scanning, preserve detail and avoid marks or damage.
