Kosovar Passport Photo

Preparing for Kosovo’s Personal Passport Appointment

Kosovo’s biometric-passport procedure requires the applicant to appear personally at a Document Issuance Centre or the relevant diplomatic or consular mission. The Ministry of Internal Affairs publishes separate instructions for adults and children under its updated passport procedure. For a passport from Kosovo, the appointment links the applicant with the identity record and supporting documents.

The consular guidance explains that personal-document applications involve photographs and electronic signatures. Prepare for that identity-recording step rather than assuming that mailing a passport photograph completes the application. Use our embassy and consulate directory to locate the mission handling an overseas request and confirm its current arrangements before attending.

A current recognisable likeness, clear facial expression and suitable framing help create a reliable portrait. Review photo quality and the detailed specifications below, and use our photo preparation instructions to prepare for the photo. The issuing service controls how the photograph is recorded in the passport application.

For children, the Ministry’s checklist includes parental or guardian attendance and the relevant identity or civil-registration records. Keep the supporting identity documents consistent with the applicant’s details, particularly where a name or other record has changed. If a passport has been lost abroad, confirm whether the ordinary replacement process or a return document is appropriate; those are different services even though both require reliable identification.
