Preparing a Kyrgyz Passport Portrait Through Your Consulate

A Kyrgyz general civil passport is the travel booklet used for international journeys, distinct from the national ID card also described as a passport. When applying abroad, the receiving mission’s photograph instructions are especially important. The Kyrgyz consulate in Dubai, for example, publishes a checklist requiring a supplied colour photograph and an electronic version for several passport transactions.

That consular guidance specifies a correctly sized image with a white background, and its listed cases ask applicants to bring the electronic image on a USB drive. Treat this as the Dubai service’s instruction, rather than assuming every centre in Kyrgyzstan or every embassy uses the same submission method. Locate your own receiving office through our embassy and consulate directory.

The portrait accompanies the application and supporting civil-status records. A replacement after a change of personal details, for instance, requires evidence of the change as well as the passport. Organise those identity documents separately from the photograph so the image can be checked without confusing it with a scanned document page.

Before supplying the final version, review facial expression, framing and photo quality against the detailed requirements below. Keep a recognisable likeness and a clear original that can produce both the requested file and prints. A photograph prepared to another country’s local standard may need a different crop or export for the Kyrgyz consular service, even when the underlying image is recent.
