Latvian Passport Photo

Planning the Photograph for Your Latvian Passport Appointment

When applying for a passport in Latvia, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs normally takes the photograph at its territorial division without an additional photo charge. This places the portrait within the identity-document appointment. You can prepare your appearance beforehand while keeping the passport application and the authority’s image collection as connected parts of the same visit.

The Office also describes a supplied studio-photograph option, with certification and recency conditions. Its guidance requires the studio’s stamp and date on the reverse and an image no older than three months. Confirm that route before arranging prints, especially for a small child who may find it difficult to sit independently or cooperate with photography at the appointment.

For the portrait, a recognisable likeness is the aim. Review facial expression, framing and photo quality using the detailed requirements below so you know what to expect during capture. The purpose of preparation is to make the face easy to identify, without changing its natural features or relying on an old picture from another document.

Bring the required identity documents, including the previous document where applicable. If applying abroad, consult the receiving mission through our embassy and consulate directory: consular offices may have their own photo-submission arrangements. Our photo preparation instructions can help you prepare, but the method accepted for a Latvian passport should be confirmed for the office and applicant concerned before the final image is supplied.
