Mozambican Residence Permit Photo

A Resident Portrait for Mozambique’s Dire Process

Mozambique’s migration-service portal lists D.I.R.E. as a distinct document service, separate from visas, passports and travel documents. The DIRE concerns a foreign resident’s identification and status in the country. Its facial image should therefore identify the person connected with the residence record, rather than merely reproduce an old travel-photo file without checking its currency.

The portal organises requirements by document category and supports appointments, submission tracking and notifications. This makes the relevant DIRE category the starting point for organising the file. A residence visa used to enter the country and the subsequent resident-document process should not be treated as interchangeable photo applications: they relate to different stages of the person’s stay.

Prepare a current portrait with a recognisable likeness, reviewing photo quality, framing, background and facial expression. The detailed specifications below assist with the visual checks, while the selected SENAMI service determines the actual submission arrangements. Keep supporting identity documents and any requested prints or electronic image associated with the same applicant. Our biometrics guide explains why an image recorded during an appointment may have a different role from a file prepared beforehand. If organising residence from abroad, the embassy and consulate directory can help locate the correct Mozambican mission; once in Mozambique, the DIRE request belongs with the migration service and its applicable residence category.
