The Portrait Within Niger’s Diplomatic Passport Request

Niger’s State Protocol Directorate handles diplomatic passport requests under the Foreign Minister’s instructions. The photograph forms part of this official request, connecting the eligible person with the document to be issued. A diplomatic passport application therefore begins with the responsible administration and supporting authority for the request.

The Interior Ministry’s March 2026 service review distinguishes the ordinary and service passport framework from the separate provisions governing diplomatic passports. Do not assume that an ordinary consular passport checklist supplies every requirement for this category. Obtain the current diplomatic checklist, including photograph format, copies and any enrolment arrangements, through the office coordinating the application.

For the identifying image, consult the photo requirements below and the linked framing, background, facial expression and photo quality guidance. Use a current, natural likeness that matches the supporting identity documents. A portrait prepared for an official biography may need different composition for a travel document; confirm the requested prints or digital delivery before submitting it.

Our Niger page provides context for Niger’s other document categories. Use the embassy and consulate directory to locate relevant representations when preparing an assignment abroad, and the visa finder for initial destination research. The coordinating administration should confirm the official entry and accreditation arrangements for the specific posting alongside the passport request.
