Official Nigerien residence permit photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA Niger residence-permit application concerns a foreign national’s permission to remain in the country, beyond the separate question of entry. An official September 2026 explanation of the current framework states that foreign nationals over fifteen who intend to settle must request a residence permit or resident card within three months. Establish the appropriate category before assembling the photograph and supporting file.
The framework was updated through a January 2025 ordinance and a December 2025 implementing decree. Older published residence checklists therefore need to be checked against current instructions. Ask the receiving immigration service which photograph dimensions, number of copies and submission method apply to your application, rather than transferring a visa photograph specification automatically.
The photo requirements below offer the portrait checks for this page. Review framing, background, facial expression and photo quality, keeping a current likeness that can be compared with your passport and other identity documents. If prints are requested, keep them undamaged and separate from photocopies of the passport pages.
Use our Niger page to connect residence information with other Niger document guidance. The visa finder helps with the distinct entry stage, while the embassy and consulate directory provides contacts for consular questions. Confirm the supporting evidence for your actual reason for residence and retain the application instructions with your records.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
