Polish Residence Permit Photo

A Current Photograph for Poland’s Residence Card

A Polish residence card records a foreign national’s authorised residence status and identity. The Office for Foreigners explains its use together with a valid travel document, including border crossing under the applicable conditions. For someone living in Poland, the portrait connects the card to its holder, while the residence decision establishes the permission behind it. These related functions should be kept distinct when selecting the application service.

The authority describes issuance and replacement procedures and asks for a current photograph with the relevant application. Confirm whether you are applying for a residence permit, obtaining the resulting card or replacing an existing card: the paperwork and stage of the case can differ. Keep the passport and other requested identity documents available. A scan of the passport’s photo page is supporting evidence, not necessarily a substitute for the separately requested portrait.

Prepare a clear recognisable likeness, suitable framing and dependable photo quality. The photo requirements below explain the photograph itself, including the relevant background and facial expression. Check how the office wants the image delivered before preparing prints or a digital photograph, and retain the original for any correction. If the card needs replacement because appearance or personal details have changed, identify that reason clearly in the request. Finally, verify the finished card’s information against the underlying residence record so the image and written details remain consistent during future checks.
