Réunionese Diplomatic Passport Photo

The French Diplomatic Passport Portrait for an Eligible Réunion Applicant

An eligible French official based in Réunion uses France’s diplomatic-passport system, rather than a territorial diplomatic document. The application depends on official entitlement and approval by the foreign-affairs authorities. Its portrait forms part of the identity record attached to that approved application. Arrange the image with the office coordinating the passport, especially when the appointment or mission paperwork is being prepared away from mainland France.

Article 7 of the French diplomatic-passport decree describes collection of the digitised facial image, signature and fingerprints after the application is accepted. It also provides for recent, identical identity photographs as an alternative way of supplying the facial image, subject to the specified standards. This is a document-specific arrangement: do not assume that the ordinary passport appointment at a local mairie also handles diplomatic issue. Confirm the collection location and the requested image delivery method through the responsible official channel.

Prepare a recognisable likeness that corresponds to your current appearance, with suitable framing, facial expression and photo quality. The detailed photo requirements below are useful for checking the portrait before supplying prints; keep an original digital photograph available if a correction is requested. Your supporting identity documents and appointment evidence establish different parts of the application, so keep them organised separately. The portrait must be technically usable, but it does not establish entitlement to the diplomatic credential. Before travelling, have the mission office check the document and destination arrangements together so that passport preparation fits the authorised assignment.
