Portraits Supporting a Russian Temporary-Residence Application

Residence paperwork in Russia includes different permissions, so identify the actual application before preparing a portrait. The temporary residence permission known as RVP is distinct from a residence permit known as VNZh. The Russian consular section in Warsaw publishes an RVP application checklist with two photographs, one for each copy of the application. Those instructions provide a concrete temporary-residence example rather than a universal photo quantity for every residence document.

The checklist also asks for the foreign applicant’s passport and a Russian translation. The portrait and translated passport play different roles: the passport establishes the documentary identity, while the new portrait shows the person making the request. If you are applying for VNZh, renewing a document or using a different procedure inside Russia, obtain the checklist for that exact transaction from the responsible migration service. Do not carry the Warsaw consular RVP attachment list across to a different status without checking.

For a requested set of prints, use a single current image so the photographs match. Review framing, facial expression and photo quality against the detailed photo requirements below, preserving an accurate recognisable likeness.
