South Sudanese Visa Photo

Choosing the Right Photo Submission for a South Sudan Visa

A visa to South Sudan identifies a foreign visitor and records the proposed purpose of entry. South Sudan offers an official eVisa service, while missions also publish their consular checklists. The photo should be prepared for the route handling your application, rather than assuming that every published checklist describes the same medium. Use the visa finder for orientation and confirm the current process with the official service or responsible mission.

The Washington embassy asks consular visa applicants for two square passport-sized photographs, while the foreign ministry’s general visa page lists one recent passport-size image. Those are differently scoped instructions, not a reason to combine both counts into a new requirement. Check your receiving office’s checklist before producing prints or exporting a digital photograph. A portrait and a copy of the passport’s photo page are also distinct items when both are requested: one shows a current recognisable likeness, the other records the travel document.

Prepare the face using the photo preparation guide, facial expression, background and photo quality advice, with the detailed photo requirements below as a visual reference. Keep the picture associated with the correct applicant when submitting a family or organisation’s files together. The invitation or company letter establishes the travel purpose; the portrait establishes appearance. For official travel, a note verbale may be required separately. The embassy and consulate directory can help locate the office to clarify these documents and the applicable photo format before submission, without confusing a visitor’s visa with issuance of a South Sudanese passport.
