Two Portraits in Vietnam’s Temporary Residence Card File

A temporary residence card in Vietnam is issued through an application supported by evidence of the person’s qualifying status. The Ministry of Public Security’s checklist includes documents such as a work permit, an exemption confirmation or other evidence establishing eligibility. It also distinguishes the request made by an organisation from one supported by an individual. The applicant’s photograph connects this supporting file with the foreign resident named on the card.

The published procedure requires two small portraits: one is attached to the NA8 application and the other remains separate. Prepare matching prints from a recent portrait, and keep both together with the correct applicant’s papers. Check photo quality at the finished size, since the face still needs to remain clear in a compact format. Balanced framing, an appropriate facial expression and a current recognisable likeness help the image remain useful for identification.

The passport is a separate required document. For an online application, the official instructions still describe sending the passport to the receiving authority and complying with certification requirements for the remaining documents. Do not confuse uploading the file with completing every physical submission step.
