Keeping Vietnam’s E-Visa Portrait Separate from the Passport Scan

A Vietnamese electronic visa application uses both a portrait of the traveller and an image of the passport’s personal-information page. They have different purposes: the passport image records the document used for the journey, while the portrait provides a clear view of the applicant. Preparing these files separately helps keep the identity information consistent when arranging travel to Vietnam. The Immigration Department directs applicants to its current electronic-visa domains, including evisa.gov.vn.

For the portrait, start with a recent digital photograph showing a natural recognisable likeness. Vietnam’s published government guidance describes a white-background portrait, so check the background as well as the face itself. Clear framing, a suitable facial expression and sound photo quality matter after the file has been resized. Keep enough image resolution for facial details and follow the live upload instructions, rather than applying an old portal’s file-size limit to the current system.

Use the visa finder to orient your entry planning, then confirm the category and application route through the official service. A photograph does not replace the passport details or the information about the proposed journey. Before submitting, check that both uploaded images belong to the same applicant and that the passport page remains readable. The detailed photo requirements provide image guidance, and the embassy and consulate directory can help locate a mission if your circumstances require a consular route.
