Official Belizean residence permit photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA permanent-residence application for Belize may involve photographs for more than one person. Belize Immigration’s current online checklist asks for two pictures of the applicant and two of each dependant included. Prepare each individual’s portrait alongside their own supporting records so a family application does not end up with an incomplete or mixed photo set.
The webpage specifies recent correctly sized photographs, a white background and a direct view of the face. An older linked residence guide gives different dimensions, so confirm the current receiving-office instructions before ordering the final prints. The online checklist is the starting point used here; keeping the actual photo request with your appointment papers helps resolve that discrepancy.
Permanent residence also involves evidence about identity, immigration history and support. The department distinguishes a legally married spouse included on an application from a common-law partner applying separately. Those distinctions affect whose documents and photographs belong together. Use our identity documents and photo quality guides when preparing readable records and a clear, natural likeness for each person.
The photo is one part of that residence file, rather than proof of permission to settle by itself. Review the photographic photo requirements, framing and facial expression before submission, and keep the original digital photograph available if further copies are requested. For initial travel research, the visa finder is a separate resource; entry permission and a permanent-residence decision serve different purposes. Ask Immigration about your precise residence category rather than carrying this permanent-residence checklist over to every temporary permit.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
