Your Costa Rican Passport Portrait at the Enrolment Stage

A Costa Rican passport application includes the photograph alongside fingerprints, signature and supporting documents. Correos de Costa Rica describes capturing these materials at its electronic service counters and sending them digitally to Migración, which produces the passport. For that service, the image belongs to the enrolment appointment and the resulting document record.

Prepare for the appointment with a clear view of the face and an appearance that will remain recognisable during travel. A natural likeness is more useful for identification than a styled publicity image.

The application and delivery stages are connected but distinct. Correos explains that completed passports can be delivered through its service, including arrangements for applicants who applied directly at Migración. Choose the issuing route first, then organise the identification and collection details for that route; arranging delivery does not itself complete the passport application.
