How the Portrait Fits Hungary’s Residence-Permit Application

A residence-permit photograph in Hungary identifies the foreign national whose permission to stay is being considered. The National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing publishes separate routes for different residence purposes, so the image should be prepared for the actual permit category rather than for an assumed all-purpose immigration card.

The authority’s temporary-residence-permit guidance describes facial-image and fingerprint capture for the biometric document. For applications made through Enter Hungary, it also connects receipt of the application with payment and the timely recording of the photograph, fingerprints and signature. Submitting documents online therefore does not necessarily complete the personal identification stage.
