Hungarian Visa Photo

Matching Your Hungarian Visa Photograph to the Schengen Application

For a short visit to Hungary, the visa photograph forms part of the Schengen application identifying the traveler and the intended journey. It accompanies the application form and passport evidence rather than replacing them. Before preparing the image, establish that Hungary is the appropriate country to handle the application and confirm the instructions of the office receiving it.

Hungary’s representation in Taipei requests a recent colour passport-size photograph and also describes biometric data collection. Its guidance distinguishes the supplied photograph from supporting passport-page copies. Keep those files or papers clearly separated: the portrait is a new identification image, while the passport scan documents your existing travel identity.

Use the detailed requirements below to check the final image. The practical priorities are a recognisable likeness, suitable background and clear facial detail. Our framing, facial expression and photo quality guidance helps avoid a photograph that looks attractive on screen but is unsuitable when submitted or printed.

Application arrangements vary by location, and the receiving mission may direct applicants to a visa centre. Find the relevant representation through our embassy and consulate directory, then check whether it requests prints or another delivery method. The visa finder can help explore entry requirements, including whether a different permission is relevant to a longer stay. Do not assume that a photograph prepared for a Hungarian residence application automatically satisfies the checklist for this separate short-stay request.
