Photographs Within an Afghan Absentee Tazkira File

The Tazkira is an identity document of Afghanistan, and a photograph can form part of an application made while the applicant is abroad. The Afghan consulate in Mumbai publishes an absentee-Tazkira procedure in which the consulate prepares a package for the National Statistics and Information Authority, or NSIA. This is a specific route, not a claim that every Tazkira service follows the same steps.

Mumbai’s checklist asks for five recent photographs with a white background: one for consular use and four accompanying the package. Check the requested print format before preparing the Tazkira photo. The application also identifies a representative or relative in Afghanistan and includes a paternal relative’s Tazkira. The portrait therefore sits alongside other identity documents used to establish the record.
