Official Afghan visa photo requirements for 2026. Size, background and rules. Create a compliant photo online.
Image Created with AI for IllustrationA visa application for Afghanistan brings together the traveller’s identity and the reason for the proposed visit. The Afghan consulate in Mumbai publishes separate checklists for tourist, business, family, employment and visit categories. The visa finder can help start your research, but the chosen category determines the supporting material accompanying the photograph.
The Mumbai checklists request two passport-size photographs with a white background, alongside the passport and application form. Business applicants supply company-related material, while the visitor categories describe travel-purpose or reference information. A clear portrait links those papers to the person applying; it does not replace the other identity documents or evidence requested.
Review the photo requirements and photo quality before arranging the prints. Keeping the original image available helps if the receiving office asks for another copy. Our facial expression guide provides practical photo preparation without turning a visitor-visa checklist into a passport application.
The instructions cited here apply to the consulate in Mumbai. Use the embassy and consulate directory to find the Afghan representation serving your location, then verify its current submission arrangements and the appropriate visa category. A completed form, a suitable photograph and the supporting documents should describe the same applicant and intended visit. Do not assume that a different consulate’s photo delivery method or a separate electronic service applies automatically to your case.
Photo dimensions must be precise to avoid rejection. The face-to-frame ratio is equally important for proper identification.
Use a plain, distraction-free background. We replace it automatically to meet official criteria.
Proper lighting ensures your photo is clear and natural. Uneven exposure or artificial glare can lead to rejection.
Your face must be fully visible with a neutral expression for easy identification and facial recognition.
Glasses are allowed only if they do not obstruct visibility. Headwear is permitted only for valid medical or religious reasons.
Improper posture can lead to application rejection. Your face and shoulders should be correctly aligned and fully visible.
